Lewis Celebrates Red Ribbon Week
October 23-27, 2017
Red Ribbon Week is a national event that promotes drug awareness and prevention each year. At Lewis, it is a special time for our students, staff, parents, and community to commit themselves to leading a healthy and drug free life, and to present a unified and visible representation of that commitment. The following themes and activities have been planned for each day of the week. We hope you will join us in celebrating and modeling healthy choices!
MONDAY – RED-Y to live a drug free life! – Wear RED today and pledge to live the healthy way!
TUESDAY – Give drugs the boot! – Wear your favorite pair of boots to school to help us stomp out drugs.
WEDNESDAY — Turn your back on drugs! – Wear your clothes backwards to school today.
THURSDAY – Let’s sock it to drugs! – Wear your silliest socks to school today.
FRIDAY – Join the TEAM against drugs! – Wear your favorite team shirt or jersey.
Georgia Parent Survey
The Georgia Parent Survey is modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone or tablet. Parents that do not have access to the Internet may complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school. Parent survey data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. Results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.

The annual tradition of Cape Day is back on Oct. 20th. While some superheroes battle scary villains, at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, our superheroes fight something much scarier—illnesses and injuries that many of us could never imagine. But when they wear a cape, nothing is impossible. Please join us as we celebrate all of our superhero patients by wearing a cape on Cape Day
Please wear a cape to show support for children battling sickness. If you would like to make a donation, we will be taking up donations for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta on October 20th, but you do not have to donate in order to wear your favorite cape. You can order a cape from CHOA on their website (link below), or make your own out of a pillowcase or other material.
